Botswana: Voting Underway in Tight Presidential Elections

Voting is currently ongoing in Botswana as they elect a president and parliament to rule the country for the next five years in an election expected to be the most competitive in the country's history. The atmosphere is calm and peaceful so far.

Close to 1 million eligible voters are expected to exercise their franchise in the 4,449 polling centers across the country which started at 6:30 am and closes at 7:00 pm local time.
