Malawi: Children Realize Their Right to Good Sanitation

Nkhotakota — Since its establishment in 1994, learners at Saliona Primary School in the area of Senior Chief Mwadzama in Nkhotakota had been enduring torrid times whenever they wanted to respond to the call of nature.

They were seeking refuge on football ground and in the bush thereby causing a public hazard of open defecation, a malpractice which is pegged at 64 per cent in Nkhotakota according to 2014-2019 Nkhotakota District Strategic Investment Plan for Water, Sanitation and Hygiene.
