Kenya: Tour Guides to Receive Training

23 April 2014

LAMU All tour guides will undergo an extensive compulsory training before they get licences, Trade executive Samia Omar has said. This follows an increase of 'fake' tour guides and reports of tourists being attacked.

Omar said most beach boys pose as tour guides but do not have official certification to do the work. Speaking to the press at the Sunsail hotel on Monday, Omar said her department will work with other dockets of the county government to ensure efficient policies that will end the ever-increasing number of illegitimate tour guides are put in place.
