Kenya: Don't Let Elections Affect Farming - Officer

A Trans Nzoia agricultual officer yesterday urged farmers to ensure next week's elections do not affect farming. Trans Nzoia West district agricultural officer Josephat Ling'ang'a said the elections will only take a day but the country needs food everyday.

He was speaking to the Star in Kitale. Ling'ang'a advised farmers to prepare their farms during the dry spell to help control crop pests and diseases. "The farmers should be well prepared to ensure their yields are good at the end of the year," he said.
