The upcoming national elections in Kenya bring a sense of trepidation and foreboding due to the post-election violence witnessed following the polls in 2007.

Presumably, this is why The White House recently released a message from US President Obama to the Kenyan people. This is the first time he has addressed Kenyans directly since his historic victory in the 2008 US Presidential election and subsequent re-election in 2012. The video is loaded with meaning.
